Indian Army Day – 15 January

Indian Army Day is being celebrated on 15th of January every year. This day is celebrated in memory of Field Marshall K. M. Cariapppa. He was the first Commander-in-Chief of Indian Army. He took over the charge from British Commander Sir Francis Butcher. Cariappa took charge on January 15, 1949.

Celebration on Indian Army Day

This day is celebrated at Amar Jawan Jyoti at India Gate and all the Army Offices and Headquarters in India. The biggest celebration is done at New Delhi. Various activities are done on this day. It includes parade, dance activities, patriotic songs, band show, etc. In 2018, Indian Army celebrates its 70th Army day. Army chief will also join the celebration in New Delhi.

Honor to the Martyrs

Armed forces sacrifice their lives for the safety of mankind of the country. They maintain the peace by not allowing any intruder to enter into the country. Also, Army personnel are the symbol of courage and determination. They deserve a lot of respect from every person of India. They gets martyred just for the safety of the country. The whole nation stands up, salutes, remembers them and gives a big round of applause. Sacrificing life for the safety of other person is a generous work. Jai Hind! Jai Bharat!
